First Impression – GreenWorks 60V Chainsaw Honest Review

GreenWorks 60V Chainsaw Review (3)

After much consideration, I opted for a battery-powered chainsaw to avoid the hassle of having yet another tool in my shed that requires gas mixtures.

Now, after using it for approximately one month, I am delighted and satisfied with its performance.

The saw is plenty powerful, and I tire out before the 2.5 Ah battery does.

So far, I’ve used it for light limb trimming, taking down a few trees about 8″ in diameter, and sawing up a downed tree of about 13″ in diameter.

On a different occasion, I needed something to clear an area of deadfall that measured two acres. Thankfully, this was the exact tool for the job! I already owned a GreenWorks 60v weed eater, so the batteries work for both, and I can keep going all day with either one.

If you’re a woman looking for a hassle-free gardening tool to make your outdoor chores easier, this one is perfect!

It’s lightweight yet powerful enough to get the job done with ease. Plus, it has an impressive battery life and can be effortlessly recharged when needed.

Pros and cons of Greenworks 60v Chainsaw

The Greenworks 60V chainsaw is powered by a lithium-ion battery which makes it lightweight and portable. It weighs only 10 pounds (without the battery) which makes it light in weight. If you install the battery, it will weigh around 12 pounds.

Thanks to its lightweight design, the user can work comfortably and efficiently without feeling tired or exhausted.

The chain is automatically lubricated, which makes it easy to keep up with maintenance, and the saw comes with a carrying case for easy transport.

Here are some of the pros and cons that the Greenworks Pro 60v chainsaw offers:

What We Like

  •  Easy to handle and carry. Light in weight
  • The chain has spikes. Cuts falling trees, wood logs, and trunks with ease
  • 4-year warranty coverage
  • Instant chain brake to prevent any incident
  • Eco-friendly operation

What We Don’t Like

  • It is not as powerful as a gas-powered chainsaw
  • Not suitable for duty tasks such as cutting down large trees with a maximum of 18 inches diameter
  • If the battery runs out of power, you will have to stop working and wait until it is recharged
  • Limited range by cord

Greenworks 60v Chainsaw Comparison

When it comes to chainsaws, there are two main types to choose from: electric and gasoline. In this comparison, we’ll be looking at the GreenWorks 60V chainsaw, an electric and gasoline chainsaw.

1 . Power and performance

One of the main differences between these two chainsaws is their power source.

A rechargeable battery powers the GreenWorks 60V chainsaw, while the gas chainsaw is powered by gasoline.

Gas-powered chainsaws are renowned for their power and capacity to easily take on hard-to-tackle tasks, eclipsing the average electric model.

However, the GreenWorks 60V chainsaw is designed to be a high-performance tool that can handle most jobs around the house, including cutting firewood and trimming trees.

2 . Noise and emissions

One of the most noteworthy distinctions between these two chainsaws is their respective noise and emissions output levels.

Gasoline chainsaws are typically louder than electric chainsaws and emit harmful pollutants into the environment.

The GreenWorks 60V chainsaw, on the other hand, produces zero emissions and is significantly quieter than a gasoline-powered chainsaw.

If you reside in a residential area where noise regulations might be enforced, this is an excellent choice for you.

3 . Maintenance

In terms of maintenance, gas chainsaws necessitate significantly more care than electric ones. Gas chainsaws have engines that require regular oil changes, air filter replacements, and spark plug maintenance.

The GreenWorks 60V chainsaw, on the other hand, has fewer moving parts, and maintenance is as simple as cleaning the chain and keeping the battery charged.

4 . Cost

Gas-powered chainsaws are generally more costly than electric ones and require additional expenses such as gas and oil to maintain their functioning.

The GreenWorks 60V chainsaw is generally more affordable than gas chainsaws, and the only ongoing cost is the electricity required to recharge the battery.

5 . Ease of Use

The GreenWorks 60V chainsaw is designed to be user-friendly, with features like a toolless chain tensioning system and a wrap-around handle for added comfort and control.

Contrarily, gas chainsaws take more energy to start and run than electric ones, requiring greater physical exertion.

Overall, both the GreenWorks 60V chainsaw and a gas chainsaw have their pros and cons.

Gas chainsaws, on the other hand, are better suited for hard labor and can produce more power; however, this comes with loud noise pollution along with hazardous emissions into the environment.

The GreenWorks 60V chainsaw is quieter and more environmentally friendly but less powerful than a gas chainsaw.

The choice ultimately depends on the type of work you need to do and your personal preferences.
